TMJ Exercises
TMJ exercises are extremely helpful if you suffer from TMJ and wish to finally cure your TMJ once and for all… And stop treating just the symptoms. We all want relief as fast as possible, but at the same time we should be keeping the “Big Picture” in mind… Not having to go through this, again!
TMJ is No Joke, either… The constant sore jaw or clicking jaw, lack of sleep and overall facial pain, is no picnic. So, a proper TMJ treatment we also focus on complete recovery — not just relieving the immediate pain and discomfort.
Before we get into which TMJ exercises are best for relieving pain immediately and at the same time are actually helping you cure your problem, for good… Without any ridiculous mouth guards or even more ridiculous surgery. If anyone says they want to cut you open to fix your TMJ — RUN!!!
There are no TMJ doctors, they don’t exist. So be aware of this… Neither the American Dental Association (ADA) nor the American Medical Association (AMA) recognizes the treatment of TMJ Disorders as a specialty. There’s zero certification process or specialized training. That’s why most of the methods they use are outdated or completely unproven to fix your issue in the long run. TMJ is completely curable with the proper information and a little effort on your part (well worth it). TMJ Exercises Read More

There are basically 2 types of TMJ - Primary and Secondary.
If you have secondary TMJ, then TMJ exercises will expedite its resolution. However, if you have Primary TMJ, what you are going through is a waste of time. Patients with Secondary TMJ have a normal TMJ that is made pathologic as a direct result of some harmful habit like clenching and/or grinding. When the harmful habit is eliminated, the TMJ returns back to normal.
Primary TMJ, on the other hand, is an anatomic condition that requires permanent changes to the teeth, bite, and lower jaw position to stop the articular disk from dislocating. The most common causes of Primary TMJ are deep overbites, bad bites, history of trauma to the head, and traditional orthodontic treatment where bicuspids were extracted.
